Climate Change
TCC members are looking at how we can organise around climate change. From exploring divestment to reducing meat consumption, this is a broad and important issue that affects everyone.
In November, to coincide with CoP26 taking place in Glasgow, the climate issue group took part in a global day of local climate action to demonstrate that people in North East Wales are concerned about the climate and care about the planet.
The group organised a Women’s Climate Strike in Wrexham on International Women’s Day, and planned a social media series of Climate Stories to share how the climate crisis is affecting communities and what they are doing about it.

Local Action
In November 2021, TCC groups took part in a local day of climate action. To coincide with CoP26 taking place in Glasgow, the climate issue group organised to demonstrate locally that people in North East Wales are concerned about the climate and care about the planet by getting out in their community and encouraging people to take Earth-friendly actions. Holywell and District Transition group marched with over 40 people through Holywell to the rousing sound of the Cambria Band. You can read more and see the fantastic photos from the day in the Leader Live article here.
In Ruthin, an event in the Market Hall showcased environmentally friendly community groups, businesses, activities, and volunteering opportunities based in and around Ruthin.
Friends of the Earth Llangollen & District organised for walkers, cyclist and paddlers to travel together and meet in Llangollen’s Centenary Square.
